What Is ERIC?
ERIC is a wellness and personal safety mobile app that offers a new avenue of care for people who live alone like seniors, people with chronic health conditions, or disabled individuals. ERIC checks in on you or your loved ones to confirm their safety.
ERIC integrates with Smart Home hubs like Alexa Echo & Google Nest for voice commands. Its simple interface is designed with seniors in mind. ERIC doesn't require additional proprietary hardware like Life Alert, and is easy to upgrade to work with new smart home technologies like Matter, and IFTTT.
At $3.99/mo. for basic and $9.99/mo. for a deluxe plan, ERIC is more affordable than other solutions that can cost as much as $90 a month.

Why ERIC? Why Now?
I suffered 4 strokes just 2 weeks after the death of my wife. I wasn’t prepared to deal with an emergency, nor had a process in place to notify my family if I needed help. I swiftly recognized the necessity for a system to automatically notify them for assistance. This was crucial not only for my own well-being but also for the safety of my special needs son, Eric, after whom the app is named. Eric is unable to seek help or attend to himself, making such a notification system imperative.
Time, can make a world of difference. For me, help arrived in less than 20 minutes. I recovered with no lasting effects.
When my dad suffered a major stroke, 26 hours passed before he was discovered. He passed away three weeks later.
Similarly, my neighbor Carol's family waited three days before calling 911 for a wellness check. Tragically, she passed away just two days later.
Popular home-based systems require the user to initiate a call for assistance. But what if you’re unable to press a button or speak?
This is where the ERIC app differs from them.
I created ERIC for people like me, and others who live alone. ~ Keith T. USAF Veteran

Aging Seniors Living at Home
Over 15 million seniors live alone in the US. The US senior population (65+) is projected to nearly double over the next 30 years, from 48M to 88M by 2050. The number of seniors choosing to live at home alone is projected to reach 30 million in the US.
“The greatest shift in household types that occurs after the age of 50 is the steady increase in individuals living alone. By age 80, three out of five households consist of a single person. ~ Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University”
